Human Rights Education Youth Network (HREYN) is an independent international non-governmental organisation composed of a network of trainers, activists, youth workers, youth leaders, teachers, researchers, volunteers, professionals and other people committed to promoting human rights education and the protection of human rights. HREYN has the mission to work for the recognition and the development of human rights education as an essential instrument for the universal respect for and promotion of Human Rights.

Position Overview

HREYN is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Part-time Project Coordinator. The Project Coordinator will work closely with the organisation's Board to manage and implement youth projects aimed at promoting human rights education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of youth projects in collaboration with HREYN's Board, partners, and stakeholders.

  • Facilitate communication and coordination among project team members, volunteers, and partner organizations.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Support the development of project proposals, reports, and other documentation as needed.

  • Assist in organizing project-related events, workshops, and training sessions.

  • Monitor project progress and address any issues or challenges that may arise during implementation.

  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation, including participant data and project reports.

  • Other administrative tasks as assigned by the Board.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., international relations, social sciences, education) or equivalent work experience.

  • Previous experience in project coordination or management, preferably in the field of youth work or human rights education (at least 2.5 years). 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Strong sense of initiative and ability to work independently

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages, particularly French, is an asset.

  • Commitment to promoting human rights, social justice, and quality of youth work.

Terms of Employment

  • This is a part-time position, with an expected workload of 20 hours per week.

  • The position is based in Brussels, Belgium, with occasional travel within Europe as needed.

  • Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
